NOPD says a Florida man has been arrested in connection with a vehicular homicide of a 17-year-old girl.
Police say an 18-year-old woman was driving westbound on I-10 near Lafitte Street at about 11:19 p.m. on Tuesday.
A 17-year-old girl and a 15-year-old boy were passengers in the SUV, according to police.
Police say a Ford Crown Victoria driven by Alfred McKnight, 28, struck the GMC in the back, causing the GMC to lose control and strike a cement guard rail and flip several times.
The 17-year-old girl was ejected from the SUV and pronounced dead at the scene, police say.
The 18-year-old woman and 15-year-old boy were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to police.
McKnight was not injured in the crash and will be booked with vehicular homicide, police say.
