Denver Health Medical Center will trim its payroll by 5 percent -- which amounts to about 300 jobs -- over the next year as part of a cost-cutting effort, The Denver Post reports.
The drop in the number of employees is expected to save the hospital $18 million. The job cuts will come in the form of layoffs, attrition and fewer new hires. Denver Health will eliminate 75 jobs by the beginning of next month, the newspaper reported.
Some eligible employees will be asked to take early retirement.
