Today, the University of Minnesota President Eric Kaler met with lawmakers to propose his two-year budget.

He could run into some trouble, in light of a recent Wall Street Journal study.

The paper reported the U?s administration grew nearly twice as fast as its student body in the last decade.

The articles did not report that despite stunning state disinvestment, the university is more productive than at any time in recent history.

The university serves nearly 9,000 more student today than it did in 2000, an increase of nearly 16 percent, and has reduced the per capita cost of educating students by 13 percent.?
