Could business ethics be the survival package?

Over the years we have seen many?companies, corporations, NGO?s and?charities even countries come and go, fail or succeed. Pricing, innovation or the lack of it, packaging, staff relations, product or service?performance, to name a few,?have all played?their?part but now under the glaring scrutiny of the digital era and the omnipotent social platforms the true values of any company, or product for that matter, have to be measured by the business ethics that drive them forward.
Companies that fail to give the full weight of importance to getting their operations and structure to be founded on a firm set of business ethics will fail in the long run. So perhaps the time has come for marketing consultants worth their salt to be able to guide clients not just on the media to use, the colours to choose in their CI, the music to add impact to their corporate video and all the things we have done so well for many years but to guide our clients towards how to measure the ?ethics? behind their operations.
How do you know if your company has the right ethical approach? ?Is it just a case of turning the air conditioners off at night, recycling the waste paper, granting generous maternity leave or is it much more than these important yet obvious things? Can a good marketing company afford to challenge its clients to question their own business ethics? We think they can, we think they should.
Here is just a quick look at what an ethical audit should entail:
