Going to VOIP on a national basis?is going to be a major challenge to create something as fundamentally reliable as the current POTS.

And, hey, is anyone surprised that the telcos think this is a great opportunity to get out from under "monopoly era" regulations, get rid of Net Neutrality, etc.?

I'm sure it's going to happen sooner or later, but it's going to be a massive undertaking and you can bet the telcos will be trying to abolish a lot of the regulations they currently have under POTS.
