The Executive Director provides leadership in programmatic and management issues in the Continuing Education and Workforce Development department. Responsibilities include coordinating, evaluating, and improving curricula and programs; recruiting new staff and trainers; initiating new programs; monitoring and increasing Continuing Education enrollment, and interfacing with the Career, Technical, and Workforce Education division faculty and industry partners.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution
Professional or administrative experience in technical education or private industry
Strong interpersonal communication and writing skills
Commitment to excellence in instruction
Ability to produce effectively under tight deadlines on multiple projects
Specific Position Duties:
1. Assist the Dean of Career, Technical, and Workforce Education in all matters pertaining to
Continuing Education and workforce training
2. Supervise personnel and programs in the Continuing Education and Workforce Development department
3. Act as a liaison with local business and industry for non-credit programs
4. Encourage and promote the highest quality of instruction in Continuing Education programs
5. Generate new programs by being involved in community activities, participating in professional organizations, and consulting with local, state, and federal agencies
6. Support new or existing programs through appropriate application for and management of workforce training grants and initiatives
7. Assist with planning, promotion and administration of Continuing Education and Workforce Development programs and courses, including at extension sites
8. Evaluate and customize workforce training regiment based upon industry requirements and current market demands
9. Oversee the Adult Basic Education Department and the Children's Center, and coordinate joint efforts between CE and ABE?
10. Oversee the preparation and monitoring of the budgets for the department
11. Perform program and personnel evaluations in accordance with College procedures
12. Administer a competent system of records and office accounting
13. Provide leadership in recruitment, retention, and development of high-quality staff
14. Serve on various college committees as appointed
15. Perform other duties as assigned
Work Hours:
Typically Monday through Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and 8:00 to 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Summer hours: 7:30
a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, closed Fridays. Numerous after-hours and weekend functions are required of the position.
