NKorea vows more rockets, doesn't mention nukes

(AP) ? North Korea's powerful politburo has vowed to continue firing "powerful long-range rockets," but a statement made no mention of Pyongyang's promise to conduct a nuclear test.

The United States and its allies have been on edge since North Korea said last month it will conduct its third nuclear test to protest toughened sanctions over a December rocket launch that the U.N. called a cover for a banned missile test.

As the world waits, surrounding countries are warning that a test will prompt more sanctions.

Pyongyang's state media said Tuesday that ruling Workers' Party Political Bureau members are promising future rocket launches as part of an "all-out action of high intensity."

The politburo also called for festivities surrounding the July 27 anniversary of the armistice that ended the 1950-53 Korean War.
